Shaving igniting your skin
Skin irritation caused by waxing, shaving or plucking can often flare up to become unbearable. Hair removal by IPL can give you a hair-free future.
Hair actually grows through 4 stages anagen, catagen, telogen and exogen. This is a cycle that hair repeats throughout its time. The entire cycle is quite different for each area of the body, i.e. head hair can be 3 to 4 years in duration while forearm hairs can be a little as 1 year, with eyebrows being 4 months. This contributes to the overall length the hair can grow to.
The anagen, growing, stage can continue anywhere from 2 to 7 years and the length of time in this stage will determine the length of the individual hair.
The Catagen or transition stage, is where the hair follicle shrinks and detaches from the base. This lasts about 10 days as the hair is separated from the blood supply when it then enters the telogen phase. This is where the hair rests but if extreme circumstances are effecting the individual this can result in significant hair loss. The exegen phase is where a hair falls out, but can also happen during the anagen or telogen stages.
Hair removal works by affecting the hairs in the anagen stage, which is actually about 90% of them. As a result removal requires multiple treatments in order to catch as many hairs in the anagen stage as possible.
