Fight Fungal

Updated: Apr 29, 2019

Painless, quick treatment of unsightly toenail fungus

Toenail fungus, onychomycosis, is a very common foot condition that is difficult to treat with over the counter medication or doctor prescribed oral pills. Counter creams and lotions have a poor success rate because they can't reach the areas underneath the nail bed and at the nail matrix where the fungus happily occupies, in their cozy, warm and dark environment.

Oral medication comes with its own issues since your doctor will likely want to put you on a regular course of blood tests also to look for signs of your liver being affected by the pills. Not surprising then that many people elect not to go down the pill route!

By treating with laser the fungus can be treated, directly under the skin and through the nail plate, to hit the fungus in its cozy environment. The area being treated may get warm and be a little uncomfortable while treated, but this disappears in a few seconds.

Each toe only takes a few minutes to treat and then you are able to go about your day as normal, with no down time. You will probably need 2 to 4 treatments, depending on the extent of the infection and how thick your nails have become. These will be spaced about 2 weeks apart and after your course you only need to come back once a year to follow up and check on things.

There are no creams, pills or other medication, you only need to follow a simple, hygenic aftercare protocol to prevent reinfection or cross-infection and you could be rid of the dreaded fungus as your old nail grows out (note, toenails grow much slower than hand nails).
